Since when are television networks in the business of making clothes? Discovery Enterprises International, the company behind the Discovery Channel, may be inadvertently starting a new trend of television show-based fashion with its new Discovery Expedition line.
The television company’s first collection for men, which will be available in the UK, Germany and Italy starting this season, will feature all kinds of pieces ranging from heavy outerwear to denim. An additional women’s collection will follow up in the spring of 2012.
On some level it makes sense to have an outdoor clothing line associated with a big-time outdoor adventuring network. However, does the label have a chance of standing up against other retailers that are more seasoned in this line clothing?
