How O’Pry Got Started: According to Paper Mag, O’Pry hit the jackpot when he was discovered on his MySpace page by Lana Winters of VNY – although most other sources report that Nole Marin from America’s Next Top Model was the one who first made the discovery – almost 4 1/2 years ago (he tells Interview Magazine in 2009 he’s been modeling for “two-and-a-half years,” making it now 4 1/2). “You have to be careful that it’s not someone spamming you,” he says. “So I checked it out, and it turned out to be legit — I thought, ‘Why not?'”
“My best friend’s a pipe layer,” he told BlackBook Mag. “We built retaining walls for pools together. Going from retaining walls to male modeling … He just makes fun of me most [of] the time.”
Major Achievements: He helped make fashion history by being one of the first male models on the cover of Details magazine along with Arthur Kulkov and Noah Mills. In addition, he’s been involved with multiple major campaigns such as Aldo, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Barney’s, Gap, Saks, Zara, Uniqlo, Armani and Bottega Veneta….to name a few.
Hobbies/Interests: In an interview with BlackBook Mag, O’Pry says, “I do enjoy reading, and they have this great app on the iPhone that I can read books on. Also, the batting cages at Chelsea Piers. I used to play baseball in high school.”
