J. Crew has always been a great store with exceptional men’s wear. Frank Muytjens has truly re-envisioned the iconic brand that has been turning out street appropriate prep-wear for years. Some even say that he’s been “hitting it out of the park” with his new designs, but this season I have to disagree.
Aside from a few quality pieces, such as the Utility Deck Jacket and the Tweed Sportcoat, this season’s collection is a repeat of what we’ve seen countless times before. We have the same shirt patterns in different colors and the same continuation of the “woodsman” and “every man” themes. As opposed to seasons past, there are only a few must-have pieces this time around.
However, J. Crew will always be the place for great basics – dress shirts, casual shirts, suiting, and great partnership items.
